Projeto Infância – 16/52 – Os Ajudantes | The Help

Acho que das coisas mais legais que se pode fazer quando é criança é ajudar na cozinha. Bem aquilo que depois de crescidos a maioria de nós perde totalmente o gosto. 😀

Mas enquanto se é criança, a cozinha é um lugar misterioso de sabor e diversão. Deve ser porque mexe com todos os sentidos: visual, auditivo, olfativo, paladar e tato. Na cozinha tem lugar para todas estas coisas. E, com a supervisão de um adulto, pode-se aprender muita coisa nela.

Esta semana foi o aniversário de 4 anos da minha sobrinha do meio. Desta vez minha irmã decidiu dar a festa na escola  e fazer as coisas em casa. Nas palavras dela ‘tinha esquecido que tinha três filhos quando pensou em fazer tudo sozinha’. 😀 Corajosa esta minha irmã. Piadas á parte, admiro ela. 🙂 Para contornar a situação, ela veio na casa da minha mãe fazer parte das coisas aqui. Com mais adultos olhando e mais pares de mão para ajudar havia menos chances de algo dar errado e conseguir fazer tudo em tempo.

Vendo todas aquelas coisas sendo preparadas pela cozinha claro que todo o mundo quis ajudar. E lá foram todos para a cozinha. De repente minha mãe e minha irmã tinham três ajudantes.

Como já comentei em outro post, admiro muito minha mãe: ela sempre nos permitiu ajudarmos na cozinha e no processo  ensinar algo novo. Como sempre fez isto conosco, com os netos não é diferente. Agora minha irmã segue seus passos.

Literalmente todo o mundo botou a mão na massa. E a massa na boca, claro! Meu sobrinho mais novo até acabou com massa e farinha no cabelo! 😀 Foi muito divertido, apesar dos percalços.

No fim a festa saiu e foi o maior sucesso. Minha sobrinha se divertiu tanto na preparação quanto na festa. Porque estar junto na cozinha quando se é criança é sempre tão divertido quanto a festa em si!

I believe one of the coolest things to do as a child is to help in the kitchen. Exactly the kind of stuff we learn to hate as we grow older. 😀

Still, while we’re children, the kitchen is a fun and misterious place full of flavors and fun. Maybe because it deals with all our five senses: visual, hearing, smell, taste and touch. There’s room for all these things in the kitchen and, with the supervision of an adult, a child can learn a ton of stuff.

This week was my middle niece’s 4 year-old birthday. This time my sister decided to have the party at school and make all the food at home. In her own words  she ‘had forgotten she had three kids when she had the idea”. 😀 Pretty brave if you ask me. I admire her. The solution to the problem: come make most of what she needed at my mom’s place. With more pairs of eyes for supervision and hands for helping there were less chances for things to go wrong and the job to be done.

When the kids saw all those things being prepared in the kitchen of course they wanted to help too. My mom and sister all of a sudden had three little helpers.

I’ve mentioned in another post that I admire my mom. She has always given us room to help in the kitchen and teach us something in the process. It’s not different now that she’s a grandmother. And my sister is following in her steps.

Literally everyone got their hands dirty. And ate some of the dough too, of course! My youngest nephew even had flour on his face and hair! 😀 It was quite fun with a few hitches here and there.

In the end the party was a success. My now 4 year-old niece had as much fun during the prep as she had in the party. After all helping in the kitchen as a child is a party itself, isn’t it? 😉
