Projeto Infância – 20/52 – Na casa da avó | At Grandma’s

Minha irmã e sua família estão ‘entre casas’ ou seja, em processo de mudança. Como as datas de entrada e saída de cada casa não bateram, a família toda veio passar uns dias aqui em casa enquanto a chave da casa para onde estão se mudando não chega. Dá pra imaginar a animação do galinheiro, né?

Apesar da casa ser grande, uma casa para duas famílias – uma delas com 3 crianças entre 6 e 2 anos – não é brincadeira. Mas tem sido MUITO divertido. As crianças tem se esbaldado na casa da avó. Passam o dia entre a sala de estar e o quintal, entre a piscina e a casinha de boneca, entre a mesa e as brincadeiras. E nós adultos nos divertimos com eles!

Uma das coisas que eles adoram é o balanço de corda que minha sobrinha mais velha (agora com quase 13 anos) inventou. Este balanço faz tanto sucesso que ninguém mais, a não ser o menorzinho, usava o outro. No entanto, esta semana ele finalmente aprendeu a usar o de corda! Que alegria! E que disputa – são três crianças para um balanço só –  todo o mundo tem que aprender a compartilhar e esperar a sua vez!

Outra coisa divertidíssima são os trajes das criaturas. É sunga com galocha, capa que vira saia, que vira vestido que vira tudo!

Minha sobrinha do meio, provando que sangue não é água, resolveu usar a capa que minha mãe fez para ela, na cabeça, como se fosse cabelo comprido. Igual a mãe dela quando éramos crianças. Só que a mãe dela usava meias-calça de nylon velhas. 😀 Fazem uns 4 dias que a figura anda com aquilo na cabeça (vide a última foto) praticamente o dia inteiro se achando linda e não tem vivalma que a faça tirar. 😀

É, criança dá trabalho. Mas a gente se diverte e cresce junto no processo.

My sister and her family are ‘between houses’ this week – meaning, they are in the process of moving. However, the dates for vacating one and entering another didn’t work out as well as planned and they have been spending a few days with us until they can get into their new place. Needless to say things have been a bit crazy around here.

In spite of the size of our house, having two families in one place – bearing in mind one has 3 children between the ages of 6 and two – is no joke. At the same time, it’s been GREAT fun. The kids are relishing their time at grandma’s. They spend their days between the living room and the backyard, the swimming pool and the doll house, between meal times and play times. And all of us adults are having a blast with them too!

One of their favorite things is the rope swing my oldest niece (now almost 13 years-old) put together a few years ago. This swing is such a favorite that none of them, except for the youngest, want to play in the other, normal, swings. However, this week he has finally learned how to play on it and he was so happy! Now the competition is higher because all three kids want to swing on the same one so they all have to share and take turns.

Equally amusing is the kids choice of clothes to spend the day in. Speedoes with gum boots, home-made capes that turn into skirts, dresses and anything else you’ll like.

My youngest niece, proving that blood is indeed thicker than water, decided to wear the cape my mom made for her on her head as if it was her own super long hair. Just like her mom did when we were kids – except she used old nylon stockings. 😀 It’s been 4 days she’s been walking around with the cape on her head (check out the last picture) and no one has been able to persuade her to take it off.

Children are a lot of work. But we’re all having fun and enjoying the growth process.
